Little Bobby Tinkerbunk has only one thing on his mind today and that is to go out an play baseball with his friends.  However, today is his sister’s birthday and there are many chores that need to be completed before the party begins. 

Ignoring the list of chores given to him by his parents, Bobby decides to sneak out and play baseball with his friends.  Bobby eventually meets the mysterious Man in the Forest who teaches him a valuable lesson.
